A BIT ABOUT THERAPY:  WHAT'S YOUR STORY?

Therapy can feel a lot like talking stories. When we first meet, I encourage and guide you to tell me your story. Where you come from and how you got here. We stay curious about what changes you are wanting to make at this time in your life. Building trust and forming a connection where you can feel safe, seen, heard, understood, and inspired to grow is my top priority.

Throughout your therapeutic journey, I implement effective psychotherapy methods which would best support your presenting issues. The strategies I use range from empathic listening, validation, attachment theory, psychobiological approach, psychodynamic, cognitive challenging,  mindfulness, behavioral modification, parts work, conflict resolution skills, and more. Areas of specialty interest are relationship counseling, grief and loss, addiction, sober-curious pathways, anxiety, and anger management. I prefer to work with those who have some prior therapy experience.

My ultimate goal is to bear witness and gently nurture your own mental, emotional, and relational growth and expansion. I will encourage you to adopt new attitudes, consider fresh perspectives, learn to navigate vast waves of feelings, and take positive action towards your unique life situations. Cultivating self-awareness is an absolute guarantee for your journey here.

Therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix. Therapy is a healing process that requires participation and investment from the patient over time. Similar to any regular fitness or health routine, we are strengthening your mental health "muscle" every week. That muscle builds upon itself, graduating through many tiers of accomplishments, benefiting your entire operating system. Think of your therapy journey as a marathon and not a sprint.

Only you can decide to show up fully for your life. 

For best results, you must take some risks and consistently apply what we work on in your 24/7 reality. With dedication and willingness, you can literally rewire your brain and increase neuroplasticity, making small changes to self-defeating behavior on a repeated basis, which amount to unfathomable payoffs for your developmental trajectory down the road.
